Meet upon the level
About Masons on the Level
Masons on the Level is a study of the Craft in plain language. It is for the brother who wants more light after the degree, and for the man who is still deciding whether to knock.
The work is education: what the symbols mean, how the fraternity has been lived, and what it asks of a man. The square and compasses are treated here as guides for conduct. The charge of the site is the one on the homepage: meet upon the level, and part by the square.

How to become a Freemason
A direct answer to the question men ask before they petition: what the fraternity is, who it is for, and how a man asks a lodge.

The museum
The Chris Craven Online Museum of Freemasonry keeps objects and the stories attached to them. It is dedicated to the memory of Worshipful Brother Christopher Craven, late curator of the Museum of Freemasonry in Sydney.
Regalia
The store
Regalia and goods meant to be used: apron cases, pins, and similar items.
Practice
Square & Compass
The design practice behind this site. It builds lodge websites, seals, and related work for brethren who need something made with care.

Who is responsible
My name is Ephraim Sng. I am a Freemason and a Past Master, and I am the person who writes and builds this site. I also work as a web developer. The site is published by Sng Enterprises, LLC.
I am a Christian. The fraternity I write about receives worthy men of every creed, and so does this site. Nothing here is offered as the teaching of a church, or as the official position of a Grand Lodge.
Masons on the Level does not speak for any Grand Lodge, lodge, or appendant body. A lodge’s own secretary is the authority on its dues, its degrees, and its petitions. If a fact on this site is wrong, I want the correction.

How the site is paid for
The site earns money from the store and from design work. It may also show advertising, including ads from Google. An article is not a paid endorsement unless the article says so. Advertising does not decide what gets written.
How the site handles names, orders, cookies, and advertising is set out in the privacy policy.
How the pieces are written
The essays and biographies are original to this site. Biographies draw on the public record, and they name a source when the source matters. Ritual is discussed with care. This site does not publish cipher, or the modes of recognition.
If you are looking for a petition, a degree, or a ruling, ask a lodge. This site can tell you what Freemasonry is and how a man approaches it. It cannot admit you.
